Munich, Vienna and Prague!

Hi!!! Start from day one! MUNICH/MÜNCHEN I arrived in Munich, with a bloody heavy pack! The flight was fine and the weather was perfect (surprise surprise considering I was leaving England it would have to get warm!) I got there, smartly looking up what the word in German was for exit and baggage I was doing ok! Richie and I found each pter quite easily! Likely for well known tnc's like Starbucks! Our hotel room was nice, and now looking back on it was very happy to have a bathroom of our own!! Haha Munich was actually beautiful, the weather was lovely and the sun was out most days! I was even lucky enough to get a visitor from my lovely German friend Maike who was an exchange student at school.. And who I haven't seen in 6 years! ( makes me feel old! Haha ) that was really nice! MUNICH-VIENNA/WIEN (sun 17th June) we caught the train to Vienna! The train ride was horrendous!! The trip was meant to take just over 3 hours.. But due to a horrible incident on the tracks it ended up taking us 7 1/2 hours to get there, which involved 5 trains, 1 underground and a bus!!! Hahaha but we made it!!! For obvious reasons we had a dry quiet night that night! Although we had moved from a private bedroom and bathroom to a 20 room dorm!! With one bathroom hahaha. A lot of snoring men!! Was interesting though! The next day (18th)we explode red Vienna, we visited schonbrunn palace (which until rich corrected me I was calling scrotum haha -(cultured I know haha), the theme park which has a 110 year old ferris wheel (we werebt game haha) and te centre of town and soaking in the amazing atmosphere and the old buildings! Vienna is a beautiful town, quiet but one I definitely recommend! We ended up having dinner at a brewery! I actually liked the beer and we had really good burgers! Found a few building (the names escape me at the moment) that were so beautiful at sunset! That day was also a absolute scorcher! 37 degrees! And we felt it haha living in london with no sun, my body didn't expect it. The days go so quickly here and the sun doesn't go down until quite late so what we thought was a early night was actually a 1 am bedtime! Back to our 20 beds haha. The next day (19th) was another day spent wandering around Vienna! We came across some beautiful buildings, the botanical gardens and the parliament house! A bit over the top haha but it's Vienna! It can be.. Another day of amazing sunshine! And Richie was practicing is now trade mark jump ( you will see in all the pictures!!) Rich had picked up a brochure of a pub in Vienna that had €1 beers, Aussie theme with Vegemite toasties and basically everything Aussie themed! Well!! We didn't know what we were in for! We headed out planning to have a drink or two, when we got there we got chatting to a guy at the bar (now our fiend on Facebook and the owner haha) we told him about how where from aus and got chatting! Te whole place was specifically designed for back pakcers, with ularu painted on one wall, statue of liberty on the other all the staff are Aussie! Only two Austrian (owner and one other guy) the bar was crazy with bizarre shots that would never be legal in aus like the fire shot etc! We ended up getting free drinks all night! And the boss ended up drinking with us haha. It ended up being a 5:30am finish! And we were meant to e catching a train at 9:30!! 9:35 (20th) we woke up haha. Feeling very very sorry for ourselves! Our next train didnt leave for another 3 hours! So we checked out and went and layed on the grass! And drank a lot of water! We arrived at the station and hoped on our next train! It looked great!! Had our own both what looked like aircon and power points! It was anther 5 hour trip and 35 degree day! As the train departed we realised (still hung over!) our air con wasn't working!!! And there were no windows, that could be opened!! 5 hours later you can imagine how we were feeling! Posiibly the worst train ride of my life! I actually thought I might have passed out! Probably would have been more comfortable haha. But none the less... We made it! Gasping for air as we hopped off the train but still! PRAGUE/PRAHA We arrived at the station! The first thing we realised is absolutely nobody speaks a word of English! They just smile haha. We got offered a place to stay by an old lady haha :/ after that and our trip we just wanted to find the hostel! Slowly we figured it out and caught the tram. It's actually a very easy hostel to find.. Luckily! It's really nice and new, we walked into our room, (which was meant to be a 10 bed but was 8) and walked into a room full of girls! (4 very pretty English girls! 2 not do pretty Americans!) we both thought they had our booking wrong and we were in an all held room! NO.. Rich was just super lucky! Haha e was the only boy! We didn't do a lot that night we were exhausted! The next day the girls moved out :( but we got to Scottish boys instead who ended up being brilliant! Very funny! We spent our first full day in Prague, one trying to figure out there currency! (which I still can't wrap my head around, it just doesn't feel right giving a 100/200 note and getting small coins haha. Two checking out the sights! We found the national museum, Charles bridge (which there is a statue on it that is a tiny bit gold and people rub, if anyone knows why please let us know haha we are lost!) the castle and te beautiful view! Old town centre.. The list goes on! Pretty much every sight we could! We also visited a torture museum!! Oh my gosh!!! I'm so glad we didn't live in those days! Horrible!! But very interesting! We spent the night watching the sun set over the castle, went and had dinner at the Irish pub and got our faces painted with czech flags to support Czech in the football - they lost haha :/ . Prague is such a beautiful (romantic) city. I will definitely be coming back here when I have a proper camera! (b.t.w my camera broke the first day I arrived in Munich! Yesterday (22nd) we went out to a little (medievalish town) called kutna hora, we didnt really know what to expect but one of my friend told me there was a church of bones! Richie looked it up wrote be left and it said there were 40,000 bones there! Again the lack of English ( and our lack of Czech!) got us lost before we even got to the station!! We were literally sprinting for the train and made it with a minute to spare! It took an hour to get to kutna hora but worth it! The church was incredible! Tiny but FULL! Of bones! All the people had died from the plague 100's of years ago (don't worry the bones had been sterilised!) they were all over the church in patterns and piled up! (the first person to start designing I suppose the patterns was a blind monk! It was so incredible! We then ventured up to the main town, all te church's were gothic, big cathedrals everywhere. The town was so old and in a huge valley! There were even girls doing a fesiv (traditional dance) there music was beautiful (very medieval with flutes n what sounded like sticks, guitars etc) but it filled the whole village!) was very surreal! Again we took a lot of pictures and rich did is trade mark jump! I attempted, but epically!!! Failed! Haha there is one photo of me even attempting a hand stand! (am just not cut out to be a gymnast!) We decided to walk back to the train station and we got half way when I had an odd feeling the train left every hour! So I made Richie pic up te pace! Again we got te train by a Minute or two! (my spider senses were right!) Back to Prague it was! We got into prague and went for another wander down town, this time there were a whole heap of people, bands, food and alcohol! (rich n I are always in te right place at the right time it seems, first in Munich we were there the weekend of there traditional yearly day! And now we had walked into another mass festival!) we had a bite to eat and went and checked out the markets, and the lemon wall (graffiti wall) and the bridge of padlocks (newest craze in most cities!) very sweet! Today (23rd)we just spent wandering around the old town. Our Scottish friends checked out - heading to Vienna! We watched the big clock tower (yes I forgot the name) chime and do its little hourly ceremony, where saints circle around inside the clock and the golden chook, clucks haha and a man dressed in medieval dress plays the trumpet on the highest (reachable) part of the tower! We then thought (why not climb the stairs to the top! So off we went! I (which has never happened before got incredible scared! But we made it and the view over Prague was so beautiful! We could see everything! At 6pm we watcheds the ceramony from the top! It was great to see the crowd waiting for the chime! As we still have quite a lot of Czech knowns left we decided to spoil ourselves and have a nice dinner. I had salmon! (very nice) and rich had potato pasta something (but they were both delicious and only 525 including drinks which is $25 has unbelievable! Tomorrow we are off to Berlin! Another 5 hour train trip I think! Fingers crossed this one is better! Alex is visiting when we go to Paris which will be lovely :) but he is goog to bring my comp so I will be able to load pictures!!! For now try and check out my face book! Again sorry for the spelling! Hope everyone is well at home!! Bye for now and much love! Xxx
